Fitbit or Apple Watch: Which Is The Best?

Fitbit or Apple Watch: Which Is The Best?

Fitbit and Apple are two of the biggest players in the smartwatch industry. Therefore, most consumers choose the Fitbit or Apple Watch. By the way, it is said that Fitbit is primarily intended to be a fitness tracker, while Apple watches are primarily personal assistants.

While this is half true, I do not think it is a very useful contradiction to do as both watches offer so many features. Both watches can be considered a hybrid, so I don’t think it’s appropriate to call pigeons a ‘smartwatch’ or a ‘fitness tracker’.

What are the differences between the Fitbit and the Apple Watch?

If you feel confused, do not worry. In this article, I will show you how Fitbit compares to Apple watches in terms of cost, battery life, fitness tracking, and additional features. So let’s get started!

1. Heart rate tracking

First, it should be said that both clocks are very good at tracking the heart rate (HR). Fitbit is the first company to offer continuous HR tracking on the wrist, so consider them trailblazers in the industry.

However, Apple’s HR tracking technology is much better now. Their sophisticated clocks can detect the first signs of atrial fibrillation (irregular heartbeat). Of course, we should celebrate the Apple Watch as a health tracker (not just a smartwatch/fitness tracker).

2. Activity and fitness tracking

The two watches in this section work very well, although there may be an edge to the Fitbit. Because some Fitbit offers on-screen workouts and they are great at motivating you.

Also, Charge 3 is much better at detecting stairs when compared to other watches, such as the Apple Watch. Fitbit Charge 4 can give you even more.

However, both watches recognize automatic functionality – which makes fitness tracking more convenient. As a result, the watch makes a great functional / fitness tracker.

3. Female health tracking

Fitbit has stepped in to monitor women’s health since 2018, but Apple only attended the party this year (2019). Although it is too late for them to add this feature, Apple’s press release indicates that the new technology has great potential for the future.

However, Apple has not explained how the technology works, suggesting that they may still be in the testing / turning phase. However, some argue that Apple’s female health tracking technology is far greater than the technology used by Fitbit and Garmin (which explains why we have to wait so long).

So, if true menstruation/women’s health tracking is important to you, it might be worth investing in an Apple Watch. Of course, all Apple technology has this feature, so you may also want to consider switching to Apple handsets.

4. Cost

Needless to say, Apple watches are expensive! (Although there are places where you can find a cheap or used Apple Watch). The newly purchased, latest Apple Watch Fitbit charge is 3 times higher than the 3. With the introduction of the new Fitbit Sense, it no longer exists. Notable is the newly released Fitbit Versa 3, which gives Apple a good fight for money.

With Apple, you pay partly for the brand. But, at the same time, the watch is loaded with features, so you are getting a lot for your money. If you want to get the newest and biggest head for Apple Watch 6. To stay budget conscious, check out the new Apple Watch SE.

However, if you do not pay for the features you do not use, you will not get the value of money. So, for some, as a result, Fitbit offers good value for the money.

5. Battery life

When it comes to battery life, Fitbit is very good (see table below). One of the biggest complaints about the Apple Watch is its battery life.

6. design

One of the positive things about Fitbit is that they are lighter, thinner, and smaller than other smartwatches (including the Apple Watch). As a result, it becomes a smartwatch suitable for girls.

However, their future designs are not suitable for some formal settings. If you want a Fitbit that you can wear for any occasion, consider Fitbit Versa 2 or Fitbit Charge 4.

7.Smart features

Compared to Fitbit, Apple watches can be considered more high-tech. For example:

  1. Both watches allow you to receive phone calls and text, while the Apple Watch allows you to answer text.
  2.  Additionally, Apple Watch provides you with a Personal Assistant (Siri). Unfortunately, Fitbit does not provide this feature.
  3. Also, there are 10,000+ apps available for download on the Apple Watch. In contrast, Fitbit offers around 150+.
  4. Finally, you can stream Apple Music to the Apple Watch, but you must download your music to your Fitbit.
  5. So, if you like the most up-to-date technology, the Apple Watch might be for you.

How does every Fitbit and the Apple cost?

Therefore, we explored the main similarities and differences between Fitbit and Apple, but there is more than one type of Fitbit. They range in price from 80 to 250. Read on if you do not know how to compare all these. Below, I compare the four most popular Fitbit to the most recent Apple Watch 5.

Should I buy a Fitbit or Apple Watch?

So, this article has shown you the important differences between Fitbit and Apple watches.

Even with this information, it is difficult to choose between these brands. I found the Fitbit Charge 3 or Versa 2 better options. To me, these watches are great ‘hybrids’, so they are good value for the money.

But Apple’s technology is even more impressive. First, the Apple Watch has the power to detect irregular heartbeats. Besides, Apple’s women’s health tracking technology seems to be the best of them all.

So, if you have these things exciting and have a healthy budget‌, the Apple Watch is unlikely to disappoint.
